Bandai Namco sells Limbic Entertainment to “private investor”

Bandai Namco is selling Limbic Entertainment to a “private investor specializing in video games.”

The Japanese megacorporation says the sale of German developer Limbic, a subsidiary of Bandai Namco, is part of its strategy to “refocus its portfolio on areas where the company provides the strongest content.”

Bandai said that with the backing of a private investor, the studio will “continue its entrepreneurial and creative journey in the specialized segment of construction and management simulation games.”

Its current management will remain, as will the company's name and corporate identity.

“We are proud of what the teams have achieved over the years and wish our friends at Limbic all the best in their projects as an independent studio.” said Arno Muller, CEO of Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe.

Limbic's only release owned by Bandai Namco was the theme park management simulator Park Beyond in 2023. The company previously developed games based on the Tropico and Might & Magic franchises.

There have been quite a few changes at Bandai Namco lately. from the sale of Bandai Namco Studios Singapore to NintendoTo Tekken veteran Katsuro Hararda announces his departure from Bandai Namco after three decades.
