Erica Kirk publicly approved JD Vance in the 2028 presidential election during her speech at the AmericaFest conference at Turning Point USA.
The widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and TPUSA's new CEO expressed her support during an onstage appearance at the conference Thursday night, where she praised the vice president as a “friend” of her late husband.
“We're investing in states, not just races,” she said of her organization's political plans. “So, I mean, we're building a red wall. Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire – that's going to be very important for us. We're going to ensure that President Trump holds Congress for all four years.”
The most remarkable moment of her decree, however, was Vance's shout-out. “We are going to get my husband’s friend J.D. Vance elected to the 48th position,” she added, “in the most convincing way possible.”
Although Vance has not officially announced plans to run for president in '28, he is President Donald Trump's presumptive successor in the Republican Party. (However, Trump has made occasional comments about looking for ways to make a third run for president possible.)
Still, Kirk's support for Vance isn't necessarily surprising, given that she has repeatedly spoken positively of the vice president since her husband's fatal shooting in September.
In the fall, Kirk called Vance a “blessing” after her husband's passing. “He and Usha [Vance]they are the most incredible people. Incredible. With so much love,” she told Fox News' Jesse Watters at the time. “I mean, everything they did for us was so humane.” They just, they were there for us. They were there for us.”
Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while speaking publicly at Utah Valley University in September. He is survived by the aforementioned wife and two children.
