Kristin Cabot Breaks Silence on Coldplay Jumbotron Scandal │ Exclaim!

Coldplay astronomer scandal will likely go down as one of the biggest music stories of 2025, despite many of its details being rumors. CEO Andy Byron and executive director of human resources Christine Cabot have been understandably silent about the summer night in Boston until now.

Talking to New York TimesLisa Miller Cabot detailed the events leading up to and after she and Byron were spotted holding each other at Coldplay's July 16 show. She claims that they were not romantically involved until that evening, although they were drawn closer by their separation from their partners. She revealed she “fell in love” with him before, but says the show was the first and only time they kissed.

“I made the wrong decision and spent a couple of afternoons dancing and being inappropriate with my boss,” Cabot said. “And this is not nothing. I took responsibility and gave up my career to do so. This is the price I choose to pay.”

In another interview with London TimesShe said her desire to hide from the kiss cam came mainly because she knew her ex-husband would also be on the show and because Byron was with her employer.

“My immediate reaction was, 'Damn it. [her ex-husband] Andrew is here. We were in the process of an incredibly—and surprisingly—amicable separation. I was afraid that I would embarrass him. He's an amazing guy and doesn't deserve this.” Cabot claims her ex-husband was a “gentleman” throughout the situation.

She also condemned Gwyneth Paltrow for appearance in an astronomer advertisement who seemed to make fun of the situation in her NOW interview, saying the woman who popularized the term “conscious separation” should have been kinder.

Cabot also said she still gets recognized and harassed in public, but has slowly started to return to her normal life.
