- A small subwoofer with a power of 200 W and a minimum frequency of 25 Hz.
- Powerful sound in the “smallest size on the market”
- Room calibration with microphone and software enabled
If you're looking for a truly powerful studio subwoofer that doesn't take up much space, IK Multimedia has just what you need: the iLoud Sub. This is a smart subwoofer that packs a lot of power into a very small size of just 10 x 10 x 11 inches.
IK Multimedia is best known for its hardware and software for recording studios, and this subwoofer was created for desktop studios: the idea is that if your studio fits on one table, this is the subwoofer for you.
iLoud Sub: Key Features
The iLoud Sub features a 6.5-inch high-performance speaker and two 6.5-inch passive radiators. That's smaller than most subwoofers, but there's nothing small about the sound: it goes down to a very low 25Hz and produces 200W of peak power thanks to its Class D amplifier. And it uses smart technology to deliver precise and immersive low end.
The iLoud Sub features XLR+RCA analog inputs and outputs, USB digital audio input, and Bluetooth streaming. The latter option is basic but effective, supporting SBC and AAC codecs but not much else.
It also comes with ARC X software and an ARC microphone to calibrate it to your room acoustics – covering both the subwoofer and monitor speakers – and it's designed specifically for studio work, where you can pair it with near-field monitors.
The iLoud Sub is available now with an RRP of US$599/£625 (about AU$905). That's not cheap for a small subwoofer, but that price includes ARC X software and an ARC measurement microphone—iLoud says that alone is worth $199.
