For the third season in a row the team Cincinnati Bengals will be watching from the sidelines as the NFL playoffs begin.
Joe Burrow's future with the team has been a topic of conversation as the Bengals come to terms with the reality that another season won't go as planned. Star defense attorney recently made comments that appeared to fuel speculation about his status with the franchise that drafted him first overall six seasons ago.
On Wednesday, Burrow tried to allay concerns about the idea that he could move to another NFL franchise as early as next season.
“There are a lot of crazy things that happen every year,” the two-time NFL Player of the Year told reporters upon his return to the NFL.

“I don't see it. No”. Burrow added when asked if he could see himself wearing another NFL team's uniform in 2026. A follow-up question about moving to another team at some point later in his career drew a vague response from the star caller: “You're thinking about a lot of things.”
A few days earlier, the Bengals were eliminated from the game in a loss to the Bengals. Baltimore RavensBurrow hinted that enjoying the game is his priority, saying he wants to “go out and have fun.” [and] play football.”
He later added that he also continues to want to win games.
“If I want to continue doing this, I need to enjoy it. I've been through a lot, and if it's not fun, then why am I doing it? So, that’s the mindset I’m trying to bring to the table.”

Burrow eventually clarified these remarks.
“My comments had nothing to do with Cincinnati,” he said after the Bengals' 24-0 loss at Pacore Stadium. “My comments had a lot to do with me, my thinking and football.”

Burrow and the Bengals reached an agreement on a long-term contract worth $275 million through 2023. This deal made him one of the highest paid players in NFL history. The contract also included a no-trade clause valid until 2029.

The Bengals will look to end a two-game losing streak when they visit the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Cincinnati is expected to face rookie Quinn Evers in this matchup following the Dolphins' decision on Wednesday. veteran bench quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
