Conservative Rock Star Will Step in to Take Over Charlie Kirk Radio Time Slot – RedState

Salem Media, owner of Townhall Media and RedState, is making a big move that's sure to please conservatives: Scott Jennings and Alex Marlow will team up to take over the 12:00-3:00 PM ET radio slot formerly held by The Charlie Kirk Show. In what will be a one-two punch of conservative goodness, Marlowe, Breitbart's editor-in-chief, will host the first hour as an introduction for Jennings, who will take over for the final two hours.

Jennings, who gained a huge following with his hilarious and relentless attacks on the left on CNN, joined the Salem Media Radio Network earlier this year with a one-hour daily show. He paid tribute legacy left by Charlie Kirk and thanked the Turning Point USA team for leading the radio show through the difficult days following Kirk's murder.

“First, to my friend Andrew Colvet and the team at Turning Point USA, thank you for your stewardship of Charlie's radio legacy over the past few months. It has been absolutely brilliant,” said Scott Jennings. “This is one of the most important hours in talk radio, shaped by voices that have not just filled time, but moved the national conversation. I am grateful to Salem for the trust they have placed in me to step into this legacy. Expanding the show gives us the space and time to provide serious analysis, honest debate and thoughtful conversation to the audience. I look forward to more great guests and more common sense for the American people!”

Marlowe is the host of The Alex Marlowe Show presented by Breitbart News, which is currently part of the Salem Podcast Network. He, too, spoke well of Kirk and credited some of the conservative media giants who helped him break into the market, including Andrew Breitbart, Larry Elder and Dennis Prager.

“Even before I became Breitbart News' first employee and student of Internet pioneer Andrew Breitbart, I was a fan of talk radio. It has been a regular part of my media diet since I was a teenager and shaped my opinion of the news when I headed Breitbart's virtual newsroom,” said Alex Marlowe. “Many of the hosts who have captured my attention and imagination over the decades are or were on the Salem dial. Larry Elder was my first love in talk radio, years have gone by where I haven't missed a moment of the Dennis Prager Show, and it was a rare pleasure to be a weekly guest on my friend Charlie Kirk's show in the last year of his life. I have deep respect for the Salem audience as well as my on-air colleagues, both people and broadcasters. I can't wait to see start.”

The Marlowe-Jennings duo will take over the important 12-3pm radio channel made legendary by the late Rush Limbaugh. Phil Boyce, Senior Vice President of Content at Salem Media, commented on the significance of the moment, saying, “Salem has earned the trust of conservative audiences for decades, and we don't take that lightly. Scott Jennings and Alex Marlowe bring their distinct voices, a rare ability to engage audiences, and a real seriousness to conversation. Together, they will carry Salem's legacy forward.”

Fans of The Charlie Kirk Show will be happy to know that it will continue as part of the Salem Podcast Network. The show's executive producer Andrew Colvet said the team is “excited to continue the live show and podcast in other venues” and kindly added that “Alex and Scott were the perfect hosts to take over the radio side of things.”

The takeover of Alex Marlowe and Scott Jennings will commence on Monday 5 January 2026.
