Nine Ohio State football players named to the AFCA All-American teams

Ohio Football players are still scattered on postseason All-American teams, and the last bushel is named through American Football Coaches Associationone of only five publications to award All-American honors.

Four until Tuesday Buckeyes already appeared on Associated Press And Walter Camp's First Teamand it continued with the AFC naming those four first-teamers while also including center Carson Hinzman, his first first-team All-America recognition in the postseason. Four previous players include safety Caleb Downsdefensive tackle Kayden McDonaldmidfielder Bill Reeseand wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. All four have now appeared in three of the five major publications, meaning that they have all reached consensus status.

But these five players weren't the only ones named. Five more Ohio State players were named to the AFCA Second Team. Defender Julian Sayinwide receiver Carnell Tateleft back Luke Montgomeryand defensive end Kayden Curry everyone received this honor.

There are currently only two other All-American teams that are used for consensus status. The Sporting News will announce the team on Wednesday, followed by an announcement from the Soccer Writers Association of America on Thursday.
