Two days after When Harry Met Sally director and his wife Michelle Singer Rainer were found murdered in his Los Angeles home December 14, Billy Crystal and several other close friends of the couple came together to release a joint tribute.
Together with the actor, the message dated December 16 was signed by more than a dozen figures from the film community, including Martin Short, Larry David, Albert Brooks, Mark Shaiman, Barry Levinson and wife Billy Janice Crystal.
“Going to the movies in a dark theater filled with strangers sharing a shared experience, laughing, crying, screaming in fear, or watching an intense drama unfold continues to be an unforgettable experience,” their statement begins. “Tell us the story that the audience demands from us.”
