The CEO of Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has been awarded a Presidential Citation for his services to the Korean gaming industry.
The award was presented to Hyun Tae Kim at this year's Korean Content Awards, a “prestigious” event organized by the country's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. According to Daum (Thank you, Machine), it notes Kim's work on two of his most famous games, Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
“This Presidential Award is a thank you to the developers and fans who believed in and supported Shift Up,” said Kim.
“We will continue to do our best to further enhance the competitiveness of Korean games on the global stage.”
While Helldivers 2's multiplayer game has over 450,000 concurrent players, making it Sony's biggest game overall, Stellar Blade's single-player title has surpassed simultaneous peak recordings similar single-player adventures such as Ghost of Tsushima, God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered peaked at 77,154, 73,529 and 66,436 respectively.
