Bayern Munich 1-1 Mainz: We’re back for the second half

45' — We go again in the second half.

Halftime observations

  • Bayern were wasteful in this half and nearly paid for it. The club said they would do a better job of defending set pieces. What are they doing? Pass from the standard. Fans want to see visible improvements, not empty words.

  • Lennart Karl is amazing, that's all.

  • One thing I noticed about Manuel Neuer is that he almost never comes for the cross and the joke is getting old. This isn't funny at all anymore.

45+2' — Bayern miss ANOTHER free kick.

39' – This is a crazy statistic:

29 minutes – THOR! Lennart Karl scores after Serge Gnabry returns the ball to the goal line.

21' – Harry Kane somehow gets his header straight at the goalkeeper, but the ball remains out of bounds.

17' – Bayern get more chances but none break the deadlock.

6' — Lennart Karl tries his luck from distance, but Daniel Batz confidently catches the ball.

Kick off! – Here we gooooo!

The lineups are out! Hiroki Ito and Tom Bischoff start this match on the left side of the defensive line. Alphonso Davies returns to the bench, where he is joined by Cassiano Kiala.

The winter break of the season is almost upon us and Bayern Munich will take on Mainz in the penultimate match of the 2025 calendar year. The carnival team have probably put three points on their Christmas wish list because they have lost nine matches so far, won one game and drawn three others. Equally, they should add luck to that list because it will take a Christmas miracle to beat Bayern, no matter what team they field.

Let's see what Bayern will do. their wish list; The board advised us not to disclose this, but it would not hurt to take a look inside:

  1. New ankle for Jamal Musiala

There is a lot of interesting stuff there, but not as interesting as today's match (hopefully only from Bayern's point of view). Zero five might try to get the win, but Bayern will just stand firm and score a couple of goals while they do it.

Forecast: Bayern wins 5-0
