One of them was Star Wars announced at the Let Geoff Have This He's Got Nothing Else Going On Awards this week from none other than Casey Hudson. It's called Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republica name that will instantly make any old guy from Knights of the Old Republic point at the screen is the Chappie style, which is also a game for which Hudson was the project director. The only problem with Fate of the Old Republic is that the studio making it only started production this year, which calls into question how far along it is – a question Hudson has sort of answered.
As already noted, the game developer Arcanaut Studios is a tiny brainchild of the studio, as RPS overlord Julian points out in his and Mark's book. Jeffy's verdict To be optimistic, we're looking at a 2028 or 2029 release date for the game. Hudson's reaction to this assessment (which is most likely a direct response to some guy who seems to know a lot about what's going on in the industry) is one of the essentially unconvincing ones. “Don't worry about the 'not until 2030' rumors,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account. “The game will be released earlier. I'm not getting any younger!

Are you honestly trying to convince us that a game that's probably quite massive, probably has too many people working on it, and only has a fairly short, pre-rendered trailer showing off scenes that could be found in literally any modern Star Wars movie, will be coming out within the next four years? Bullshit! Malarkey! Nonsense! It's not the 90s, or the 2000s, or even the 2010s, big name games are almost always delayed, whether internal or external, and I can't see that not happening with this game.
For the sake of Hudson and his team at Arkanata, I sincerely hope they can do it in this time frame and do it in a healthy way, even if I don't believe it's possible. See the water drops in this trailer? It was damn similar to real life! If they strive for this, only the gods can help them.
