Canadian speed skater Isabelle Weidemann won a silver medal in the women's 3,000 meters on Saturday at the World Cup in Hamar, Norway.
The three-time Olympic medalist finished in four minutes 1.30 seconds, ahead of the skater she was paired with, Ragne Viklund. The Norwegian crossed the finish line in 4:01.41 to take bronze.
Dutch figure skater Marijke Groenwoud won the race in 4:00.95.
The result was Weidemann's second individual distance podium of the season after winning a silver medal in the women's 5000m in Heerenveen, the Netherlands, earlier this month.
Valerie Maltais of La Baie, Quebec finished just off the podium, crossing the line in 4:03.62 to take fourth place. Canada's Ivani Blondin of Ottawa finished 10th in 4:07.08.
Also Saturday, Quebec's Beatrice LaMarche finished 10th in the women's 1,000 meters in 1:16.35, finishing 1.96 seconds behind race winner Miho Takagi of Japan.
Calgary's Ted-Jan Bloemen finished fifth in the men's 5,000m, 6.75 seconds behind the record time of 6:07.58 set by gold medalist Metodej Jilek of the Czech Republic.
