The Denver Broncos will welcome Hamilton Tiger-Cats return specialist Isaiah Wooden to practice on Friday, according to sources.
The 25-year-old from Southern Utah played 14 regular-season games for the Tiger-Cats in 2025, leading the CFL in punting average (15.0) and ranking second in punting average (26.3). He recorded a total of 1,782 yards and three return touchdowns despite suffering a midseason hand injury.
The speedster stands five feet nine inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. first signed with the BC Lions in 2024 and spent time on the team's practice squad, although he was later released and signed in Hamilton. He reportedly ran the forty-yard dash in 4.38 seconds at his pro day last year.
One source said Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive tackle and kick returner Trey Vaval is also present at the workout, although that remains unconfirmed.
NFL Practice Window opened on Monday, November 17th. and closes on February 10, 2026 at 12:01 pm EST. The window to sign with an NFL team will open on January 5, 2026 and end on February 10, 2026 at 12:01 pm ET.
NFL teams must request permission from CFL franchises to train players, but the request cannot be denied. CFL players can opt out of their agreements north of the border if an NFL team offers a contract, although the CFL team retains its exclusive rights to the remainder of the pre-existing contract.
The Broncos currently sit in first place in the AFC West standings with an 11-2 record.
