Witness an unusual connection at the Coven of the Chicken's Foot
Wildflower Interactive, a new independent studio founded by Bruce Straley, presented its first project at The Game Awards. The studio has unveiled Coven of the Chicken Foot, a story-driven adventure that follows an elderly witch named Gertie and the unusual creature who accompanies her. Their journey begins quietly after the familiar heroes have already cleared the land of monsters and treasure. When the noise dies down and the champions leave, Gertie steps forward and begins her own journey, guided by the oath that binds her to her companion.
The game is set in a stylized fantasy world that gently plays on the familiar elements of classic adventures. It focuses on the growing bond between Gertie and her creation as they try to understand each other. Their partnership becomes the heart of it all, especially as a looming truth gradually emerges that challenges their commitment to their oath and to each other.
Players explore dark dungeons, overgrown forests, forgotten catacombs filled with echoes of heroes long gone, and treacherous swamps where few survive. Gertie is far from the image of a typical adventuress. She doesn't jump over huge chasms or brandish powerful weapons. Her progress depends on patience, caution and the ability to work in harmony with her companion.
Wildflower Interactive has added a remarkable element through its use of cutting-edge technology. The creature that joins Gertie is not just a follower. He changes, learns, and reacts in ways that reflect the evolution of their bond. His abilities and behavior change as the story progresses, creating a sense of shared effort and discovery. Coven of Chicken Foot strives to present an emotional and atmospheric experience based on trust, collaboration and perspective.
