Return of Mega Man
Mega Man is poised to make a major comeback in 2027 with a new chapter in the long-running platformer series called Mega Man: Dual Override. The announcement came during this year's Game Awards and quickly became one of the show's most talked about reveals. The new game is planned for both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, as well as other platforms in the future.
Capcom shared a sneak peek of the gameplay. The video is short, but it still gives a glimpse of what fans can expect. The core gameplay remains a familiar platformer style, with Mega Man navigating a futuristic environment, overcoming obstacles and facing mechanical threats. Even when watching a short preview, it is easy to recognize the signature rhythm of movement and combat of the series.
Capcom described the project as a new adventure designed to take the classic formula into new territory. According to the studio, Mega Man will take on a wide range of robotic enemies while navigating advanced frontiers filled with challenges. The idea is to bring back everything players love about the series while introducing updated elements that reflect the new era of the franchise.
The Game Awards also brought another update from Capcom. The company has confirmed that its sci-fi title Pragmata will be coming to Switch 2 early next year. Capcom plans to support its release with amiibo and a playable demo, giving fans the opportunity to explore the game's world early on. Together, these announcements mark a significant moment for Capcom and a promising lineup of current and future Nintendo systems.
