University of Michigan Interim President Domenico Grasso sent a mass email to students Thursday addressing the recent controversy over former football coach Sherron Moore's alleged relationship with a school employee.
In the message, Grasso also asked any student with information about the situation come forward.
“Students, earlier this week the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics fired head football coach Sherron Moore for violating university policy by engaging in an inappropriate relationship with an employee,” according to a copy of the message obtained by Fox News Digital.
“When the results of the university's investigation into Coach Moore's conduct were presented on Wednesday, we immediately terminated his employment.

“The University of Michigan has absolutely no tolerance for this type of behavior. No. I have been in close contact with the Board of Trustees and we are united in our commitment to doing the right thing. This breach of trust by Coach Moore is painful for many in our community, most notably the people directly involved in this situation.
“However, our swift and decisive action reflects the university's unwavering commitment to a culture of respect, integrity and accountability on campus. All facts must be known for the university investigation to continue,” the statement said.
“Our community has worked diligently in recent years to foster a safe and respectful environment for everyone. We must continue these efforts.

“Each of us shares a responsibility to uphold our values. If you become aware of any violation of UM policies, I strongly encourage you to report it to the university hotline. I believe deeply in the University of Michigan and in the principled work our faculty, staff and students do every day. Together we will move forward with integrity and excellence and reaffirm our commitment to serving the public good.”
Moore was fired Wednesday, and the University of Michigan quickly announced it had found credible evidence of an “inappropriate relationship” with the employee. Moore was then detained by police Wednesday after his dismissal was announced. Pittsfield police said Moore will be charged Friday.
Pittsfield police said they responded to the home as part of an assault investigation. Police said the suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Washtenaw County Jail pending charges being reviewed by the Washtenaw County Attorney.
Moore married in 2015, and he and his wife have three daughters.
Francis Xavier “Biff” Poggi has been named interim head coach and will be on the sidelines when Michigan faces Texas in the Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31. Earlier this season, Poggi replaced Moore during Moore's suspension.

Moore”remains under active investigation law enforcement,” and potential charges are not expected to be announced until at least Friday, officials told Fox News Digital.
“Mr. Moore remains in custody at the Washtenaw County Jail. Because the investigation remains active, we are unable to comment further at this time, but our office will provide an update once a decision on charges is made,” the Washtenaw County District Attorney’s Office said.
