CES doesn't start until January, but rumors about products and announcements that could be revealed at tech's biggest annual conference have already begun to take shape. The CES 2026 show floor is officially open from January 6 to 9, although the show will kick off with events on Sunday, January 4 and a slew of press conferences on Monday. As always, product demonstrations, announcements and networking will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center and nearby hotels throughout the city. As always, Engadget will be covering the event in person and remotely, bringing you news and practical tips straight from the show floor.
More specific details and early announcements should emerge as CES approaches, but for now we know which companies will be holding press conferences and what technology trends may emerge at the show.
What we already know
Press conferences and trade show booths are the bread and butter of CES. The Consumer Technology Association has already published searchable catalog those who will be present at the exhibition, as well as schedule every official panel and presentation.
On Sunday, January 4, Samsung will open CES with “First Look” presentation organized by T.M. Ro, CEO of Samsung's DX Division, on the company's “vision for DX (Device eXperience) in 2026, as well as a new customer experience powered by artificial intelligence.”
This will be followed by many press conferences on Monday, January 5th. “Innovation in harmony with you” at the start of the day to share “my vision of improving everyday life through gentle intelligence.” launch its new Core Ultra Series 3 processors, Sony Honda Mobility is conducting press conference about his first car, and AMD CEO Lisa Su will talk about upcoming AMD chip announcements at keynote address the address that ends the day.
Finally, Lenovo CEO Yuanqing Yang will host the Lenovo Conference on Tuesday, January 6th. World Technical Conference in Sphere, using a large and distinctly curved screen to demonstrate the company's “commitment to creating smarter AI for everyone by continually reimagining how technology can engage, inspire and empower.” It's worth noting that Lenovo is the parent company of Motorola, which still makes phones and foldable devices with artificial intelligence tools, so it's possible that these devices will also be featured in the presentation.
Beyond the formal unveiling of new products and initiatives, by reading the tea leaves of what was announced last year and what companies are reportedly working on, we can make some educated guesses about what we might see at CES 2026.
New chips from AMD, Intel and Qualcomm
CES is often the start of a cascade of new chip announcements during a given year, and one of the first places where new silicon appears in actual consumer products. AMD will likely use its report to unveil new versions of its Ryzen chips, including the recently spotted Ryzen 7 9850X3Dwhich is expected to provide better single-threaded performance, and Ryzen 9000G series, which could be built on AMD's Zen 5 architecture. The company could also use the CES stage to preview its new FSR Redstone Artificial intelligence upscaling technology.
Intel already publicly announced that the company will unveil its Panther Lake chips at CES 2026. The officially named Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips fit into Intel's overall “AI PC” approach, but are aimed specifically at premium laptops. Based on preview Intel says the first chip made using its technology will be available starting October 2025. 2nm 18A process will provide 50 percent greater processing performance than previous generations, and for the Arc GPU, a 50 percent performance increase over the previous generation.
There are rumors that Qualcomm is also planning to introduce laptops at the show based on the work done so far. moving its Snapdragon chips from phones and tablets and to other types of computers. companies Snapdragon X2 Elite and X2 Elite Premium The chips should start appearing in laptops at CES 2026, offering a glimpse of the improved speed and AI performance the company has promised in 2025.
Brighter and “real” screens
Sony announced collection of new Bravia TVs in April 2025, replacing the company's flagship, expanding it with mid-range variants and adding a new budget model to the lineup. The star of this updated Bravia lineup is the Bravia 9 with a QD-OLED panel, but Sony appears to be preparing an entirely new display technology for 2026. In March 2025, Sony introduced a new RGB LED panel which uses separate mini-LED lights in red, green and blue for even more vibrant and accurate colors. Unlike QD-OLED, which filters a layer of blue organic light-emitting diodes through color-changing quantum dots, Sony's “General RGB LED Backlight Technology” can become as bright as a mini LED panel without the need for an additional filter layer or worrying about OLED burn-in issues.
The company has already trademarked the name. “True RGB” which could end up being what Sony is calling a new kind of display if it decides to show them off at CES. This seems likely because CES is nothing more than a TV show – it's safe to say that in addition to Sony, we'll see new TVs from manufacturers like LG and Samsung. Unless the company introduces new display technology for its TVs, it has new PlayStation monitor with 240 Hz frequency will arrive in 2026 so it can show off at CES instead.
Sony isn't the only company touting bright screens. Samsung is reportedly promoting an updated version of the HDR10 and HDR10+ standards, which could be shown at CES 2026. Enhanced HDR10+ standard will be Samsung's answer to Dolby Vision 2which includes bi-directional tone mapping support and smart features that automatically adapt sports and gaming content. Samsung's solution will reportedly offer improved brightness, genre-based tone mapping and intelligent motion smoothing capabilities, among other improvements.
Bally watch 2026
The yellow, ball-shaped robot, lovingly known as “Bally”, was announced twice. first in 2020 and then again in 2024 with a projector in tow. Samsung said Bally will be will go on sale in 2025 at CES last year and then published April 2025 that Ballie will be released this summer with Google Gemini on board. But it's almost 2026 and Bally is nowhere to be seen. It's possible that Samsung will make a third attempt to announce its robot at CES 2026, but whether it does or not, robotics will still be a big part of the show.
Robot vacuum cleaners and mops were the main event of CES 2025, and we can confidently expect noticeable improvements from the new models announced at CES 2026. Not every company will adopt the retractable arm Roborok Saros Z70but the robot vacuum cleaner has legs that allow it to climb small ledges such as Dream X50 it seems they may become the norm. Roborock can also show off its new Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Streamthe first robot vacuum cleaner with a retractable roller mop.
In addition to moving through space more efficiently, improving robot navigation could also be a major challenge at the exhibition. Prominent Members AI industries are shifting their focus from large language models to world modelswhose goal is to give AI a deep understanding of physical space. These models of the world could be key to creating robots, bipedal or otherwise, that can navigate homes and workplaces, and are likely to be a major talking point at CES 2026.
We'll be updating this article throughout the month as new rumors emerge and new products are confirmed – stay tuned!
