Columbia Sportswear is back with a new Star wars cooperation, and this year the brand changed attention of the Sith Lords to the forests of Endor for the annual harvest. Aptly named Endor Collection This is Columbia's biggest Star Wars release yet, with a 20-piece line recreating the look of the Rebel Alliance mission in Return of the Jedi while still functioning as everyday outerwear.
Unlike previous collaborations, this collection is entirely built around the environment. The dense forests of Endor—not unlike the Pacific Northwest terrain that Columbia regularly designs—set the theme. These items, including a statement poncho that'll make you feel right at home on the edge of the galaxy, are instantly recognizable to Star Wars fans while still being comfortable for everyday wear.
With most previous Columbia X Star Wars collections, including last year's Darth Vader line, selling out in minutes, time is of the essence. Endor Collection will be released on December 11, 2025 at 6:30 am PT / 9:30 am ET / 2:30 pm EST for Columbia Greater Rewards members, and then becomes generally available at 7 am PT / 10 am ET / 3:00 pm BST. Membership is free, and like Lego Insiders, it's one of the best ways to increase your chances of getting an item before it disappears.
To reveal the collection, TechRadar spoke with Erin Steele, special projects manager at Columbia. Steele said one of the biggest technical challenges was developing poncho. “We wanted to make sure they were true to the original suit but also really functional,” she said, noting the adjustable straps, snap-on sleeves, zippered hand pockets and the difficulty of recreating Endor's hand-applied camouflage pattern.
“We've worked carefully to ensure our versions retain the same raw, authentic look. Finally, we've used our waterproof, breathable Omni-Tech fabric to make it truly adventure-ready.”
Disney Parks fans may notice that the poncho resembles the raincoat worn by Actors of the film “Batuu” – a subtle touch that makes the design feel at home in canon and in parks.
Some of Columbia's core technologies were also adapted specifically for Star Wars. “Our Interchange system was a perfect fit for General Han Solo's trench coat. It gave us the opportunity to offer fans both an incredible cape and Han's signature vest in one stunning piece,” said Steele. “The inside of the vest also features Columbia's award-winning Omni-Heat Infinity technology, which we adapted this year to feature Rebel logos throughout the thermally reflective pattern.”
The same lining is found on the Endor Issue weight vest, continuing Omni-Heat's tradition of custom designs unique to each annual collaboration.
Shoes receive similar treatment. “The Endor Issue boots also feature some incredible innovations—our advanced Omni-Max cushioning, TechLite midsole, and Omni-Grip outsole—creating a truly functional, trail-ready boot,” Steele said.
The range extends beyond outerwear to include vests, shirts, hats and accessories such as the cargo backpack and quilt. The Ewok-inspired fleece line for kids, including toddler and infant sizes, uses high-pile fleece and elements of conceptual art to create something playful without veering into costume territory. This is one of the most charming parts of the collection, and many adults will probably want to pick it up themselves.
As usual, Columbia hid many narrative details throughout the line. Steele's favorites include “the inclusion of original concept art on the blanket, fleece Ewok patch, and Bright Tree Village T-shirt, as well as an actual map of the filming location that appears inside a shoebox and on the back of one of our long-sleeve T-shirts.” She added: “We put so much attention into every tiny piece of our Star Wars collection… It's almost like owning a real piece of Star Wars history.”
Columbia's Star Wars collaboration – now they are in their tenth year – they have become an annual tradition. Last year's Vader line focused on interpreting one character's aesthetic in functional clothing; This year the approach is broader: the entire setting and the structures that support it are transformed into equipment intended for real-world use.
This evolution reflects the brand's deepening creative relationship with Lucasfilm. “We love incorporating our best technology into every Star Wars collection to ensure fans are getting items that are truly functional and not just collectible,” Steele said.
“The Lucasfilm team are great partners in helping us deepen the storytelling in each collection. Every drop is unique, and diving into the nitty-gritty of Star Wars history and lore with their team allows us to create the best products possible.”
For 2025, the design team took cues from the broader Rebel forces on Endor by incorporating “asymmetrical stitching, daisy chains, cargo pockets, rank badges and custom tags,” Steele explained. The jackets also hide Aurebesh's narrative patches for fans to translate.
The cooperation itself is a multi-year, deeply integrated process. “These collections take years to create and we communicate constantly from concept to launch,” Steele said. “After 10 collections together, we have built an incredible level of trust between the brands, and each year we are excited to bring these collections to life with them.”
