Become a young adventurer in Verdant
Megabit and Tiny Roar presented their new game Verdant during the Wholesome Snack presentation. This coming-of-age adventure is set in a world slowly recovering from a devastating war. Tiny Roar, famous for its Lou Lagoon, teams up with Megabits to create an experience that combines survival, exploration and personal growth as players follow Sprout, a young adventurer trying to understand his place in a changed world.
Verdant takes players into a vibrant post-apocalyptic landscape where nature has taken control. Mutated plants and animals thrive among the untouched traces of 1980s human culture, creating a setting that feels both familiar and strange. Sprout begins her journey in search of food, useful items, and a sense of belonging. During his travels, he discovers an unusual infection that gives him the ability to transfer life essence into or out of his environment. This ability becomes central to the adventure because every decision has consequences. Players must weigh the importance of survival against the impact their actions have on the world around them.
Maurice Hagelstein, co-founder of Tiny Roar and director of Verdant, describes the game as a hopeful coming-of-age story. He explains that Sprout's journey is filled with moments that force players to think carefully about their choices. The world holds memories of the past and hints of what the future may be, creating an atmosphere of reflection and responsibility. According to Hagelstein, the team looks forward to sharing more details as development continues.
Verdant is coming to Steam soon, and players can wishlist it now. The German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space funded the project, helping Tiny Roar bring this creative world to life.
