Los Angeles Chargers forced Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts into a career-high number of turnovers, including the game-winning overtime interception near the end zone to seal a 22-19 victory on “Monday Night Football.”
Both Eagles and the Chargers came into this game with an 8-4 record, but it was the latter that boosted their playoff chances as they moved to 9-4.
Meanwhile, the Eagles, still holding the NFC East lead, moved to 8-5.

It was a game with losses for both teams, but it was painful who had five total turnovers and four interceptions, including one that would have been the game-winner in overtime.
On first-and-10 from the Chargers' 17-yard line and trailing by three scores, Hurts sold the play action to Saquon Barkley and rolled out to his right. He looked to hit Jahan Dotson near the goal line, but Cam Hart, who had one of the interceptions earlier in the game, laid out and made a stunning pass.
Safety Tony Jefferson rushed to Dotson's aid, and he quickly found the ball in the air, secured it and remained on the playing field as explosions erupted at SoFi Stadium.
EAGLES STAR TURNED THE BALL TWICE IN ONE CHAOTIC GAME AGAINST THE CHARGERS
This play helped the Chargers win at home, but it wasn't easy as the Eagles defense kept their team in the game by forcing turnovers.
Justin Herbert, who was seven days away from surgery on his left arm, was also intercepted and saw a strip sack fly toward the Eagles on back-to-back plays late in the first half.
But while Herbert struggled against passes (12 of 26 for 139 yards and a pass to Omarion Hampton on the opening drive), he was able to get the job done with his legs.

Herbert rushed 10 times for 66 yards to lead his team on the ground, including 26 yards on the main drive of the play, giving Cameron Dicker a chance to make his fourth of five field goal attempts to force overtime.
He did it again when the Chargers got the ball for the first time in overtime, where Dicker buried a 54-yard attempt to go a perfect 5-of-5 for a 22-19 lead.
Philadelphia got a huge overtime break after Odafe Owe was called for a neutral zone violation on fourth-and-4, allowing for another set of turnovers in what could have been a game-ending run.
However, the Chargers defense came through when they needed another turnover all night, and it was right that they finally got the deal done.
The Chargers' top receiver was Kimani Vidal, who threw a short 60-yard pass on Los Angeles' opening drive that ultimately allowed Hampton to catch a touchdown in his return after breaking his left ankle in Week 5.

For the Eagles, they were able to sack Herbert seven times as Jalyx Hunt led the team with 2.5 sacks on the night. On offense, Hurts connected well with AJ Brown, catching six of 13 targets for 100 yards. Dallas Goedert added 78 yards on eight catches and DeVonta Smith had four catches for 37 yards.
Saquon Barkley, who the Eagles and their fans hoped would be able to break out like he did in 2024, managed to fly 52 yards into the end zone early in the fourth quarter for a touchdown that put the Eagles up 16-13. He had 122 yards on 20 touches in the backfield.
Hurts finished the game 21 of 40 for 240 yards without a single touchdown (Brown had one called back earlier in the game due to a Jordan Mailata penalty) and his four interceptions.
Hurts also fumbled on a play in which he was intercepted when he caught the first attempt of a Chargers defender who picked him off, but the ball was knocked out of his hands and returned by Los Angeles.
