MotoGP boss dismisses “completely unfounded” rumours about Moto2 and Moto3

The MotoGP promoter Dorn closed “completely unreasonable” rumors, suggesting that Moto2 and Moto3 can be classified as a secondary role in the future.

The celebration of Mark Marquez of his seventh Motogp title in Japan revealed a strategy conceived by promoters at the beginning of the season, but not immediately informed fans.

The idea is to separate the achievements of the premiere from championships won in lower categories, which increasing the MotoGP profile.

The change has led to the fears that Moto2 and Moto3 can lose visibility, face more short calendars or become the events of support similar to the youthful series of Formula 1.

Nevertheless, Ezpeleta sought to clarify that Moto2 and Moto3 will continue to play an important role on the weekend of the Grand Prix.

“I think everyone knows how important MOTO2 and MOTO3 are for the World Cup, and probably fairly repeatedly repeat it more often, because it seems that there were a huge number of rumors over the past few weeks,” Ezpelota said. “Some of which impressed me.

“How:“ Wow, this is new! You can’t hear it very often. ” Things such as not a race at every event, races on Saturdays … I mean, completely unfounded.

“We constantly repeat both behind closed doors and fans, how important Moto2 and Moto3 are important, and what asset they are for the championship.

“So that the stars of the future indicate and get acquainted with fans and so quickly. Moto2 and Moto3 and will and will remain the inside of the championship.

“In Motogp as an ecosystem, we can proudly say that no other real estate Motorsports puts so much in their pyramid, guaranteeing that sports are becoming more and more, and more children practice sports. We are very proud of this. ”

Ezpeleta confirmed that the Paddoki Moto2 and Moto3 will be moved to a separate place away from the MotoGP hospitality zone.

“Of course, there are some things that will happen behind the pitboxes, some arrangements physically in the pen, which will also mean investing in the best and more equal opportunities for Moto2 and Moto3 in place, but this will not change what fans see on the highway, the development of riders, and seeing how these children walk in the championship when they are 17/18, and they work through LadddDer.

At the weekend in Japan, confusion arose from the way to be taken into account in motorcycle races in the future.

Unlike Formula 2 and Formula 3, Moto2 and Moto3 are the world championships on their own, and, as such, any titles won in these categories are of great value.

Responding to rumors, Ezpeleta categorically excluded the names of Moto2 and Moto3 diluted by promoters.

“The world championships are world championships, and the titles of the world are the titles of the world,” Ezpelta clearly said.

“All those that were provided will continue to calculate, this is just how you are around the wording and specifics. There is a change in the tendency from how the championship has turned into what is now, than when, more important, and more important than when -libs.

“Before you have riders who were very successful in the same class and [did] Do not go into classes of greater ability, but now this is not a reality. It is difficult to accurately determine the year when it has stopped.

“Moto2 and Moto3 are not only feeder classes, these are world championships that are part of the Grand Prix Global Championship.”

Motogp will be a major review in 2027, while current engines are 1000 cubic meters. Cm are replaced by 850 cubic meters.

Ezpeleta also teased “exciting” changes in elementary grades in order to reduce the gap in the performance between Moto2 and Moto3 motorcycles.

“We have several exciting ads in the near future until the end of the year. It is no secret that in particular, we examined the changes and evolution in Moto3. If you look right now, more mathematical analysis, with the restrictions of the new century and how high children receive today – with the exception of me – you can see that there is a consideration that should be done for Moto3.

“I would say that the gap between Moto2 and Motogp, probably where we want it to be, but the gap between Moto2 and Moto3 is too large.

“In the future, some exciting news will appear. It is aimed at making sports more, to improve Moto3 and Moto2, as well as create more opportunities for children around the world – whether in this pen or others around the world in the national series. We take this into account.

“When we invest in Motogp and Sport and make Motogp stars more, this does not exclude that we will continue to invest in other classes for their presence in the pen in order to be better to be more equal to increase the standards at the Grand Prix Championship.”
