Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a partnership with Bad Robot Games to support its first homegrown game.
The platform owner will produce and publish the studio's upcoming four-player co-op shooter under the leadership of its chief creative officer (and Left 4 Dead creator) Mike Booth.
The unannounced game is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and PC, with more details to come.
Booth teased the project Reddit back in September, which he described as “built on the foundation of what made Left 4 Dead special.”
He continued: “If you liked the teamwork, tension and replayability of my past games, you'll probably find this one interesting. It expands on the co-op formula in a way that I’ve been wanting to explore for a long time.”
Bad Robot Games CEO Anna Sweet said the studio hopes to “deliver a bold, innovative experience” with its new game.
“Partnering with Sony Interactive Entertainment allows us to bring our new IP to life with the expansive vision of this new universe,” Sweet said.
“I’m thrilled to have Mike Booth at the creative helm, creating a collaborative adventure that will lead to unforgettable moments with friends.”

Bad Robot Games is a division of JJ Abrams' production company Bad Robot. launched in 2018.
