Ilhan Omar's close ties to Minnesota scammers who stole hundreds of millions in a charity racket
Those eye-popping photos of Walz and Omar posing for friendly photos with an illegal Somali scammer couldn't have come at a worse time for Minnesota Democrats.
Walz is already facing intense scrutiny and growing calls for an investigation into his role in overseeing the soaring multibillion-dollar welfare fraud scheme. These diagrams are like reported by RedState Taxpayer-funded fraud involving several government aid programs could total more than $8 billion Friday.
Billion, with B.
🚨URGENT: Somalia fraud in Minnesota could reach $8 BILLION, not just $1 billion as initially reported.

And much of the fraud was allegedly perpetrated by members of the state's large Somali community. Omar has long been an active advocate for the public interest. She moved to the USA in 1995.when she was 12, after her family ran away civil war in Somalia.
The congresswoman has not been accused of any wrongdoing in any of these cheating scandals, but the newest photographic evidence and reports make it clear that she at least knows some of the people who travel in these circles.
In addition to the photo with Ibrahim, RedState editor Bob Hoge it turned out that Omar “has strong relationships with at least two scammers.”
The scammers were Salim Ahmed Saeed, who hosted a party at his restaurant to celebrate Omar's 2018 election victory, and Guhaad Hashi Saeed, who worked on the Squad members' 2018 and 2020 campaigns.
In March of this year, Salim was reportedly found guilty of 21 counts, including wire fraud, federal program bribery and money laundering, after he embezzled a cool $5 million. Guhaad pleaded guilty in August after falsely claiming he served 5,000 meals a day to receive benefits from Minnesota. Feeding our future program. He earned a hefty $3.2 million.
Omar, when told by CNN about the alleged widespread fraud, struggled to explain what was happening. Her answer was evasive at best.
Jake Tapper: Why is fraud in Minnesota getting out of control?
Ilhan Omar: I think what's happened, um, is that, you know, when you have some new programs that, um, are designed to help people… I just think that a lot of the COVID programs… were created so quickly… pic.twitter.com/YcaTqC5LYG

“I think what's happened, um, is that when you have these new programs that are, um, designed to help people, you often rely on third parties to be able to help you,” Omar told Jake Tapper. “And I just think a lot of the COVID programs were put in place so quickly that a lot of the guardrails weren't put in place.”
Again, Omar and Walz were not charged with any malfeasance related to the Somalia fraud scandal in Minnesota. Waltz, however has was accused by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem of “idiot“and/or intentionally allowed the fraud to occur under his nose.
.@Sec_Noem: “You told me to look into Minnesota and their visa scams and their programs. 50% of them are scams, which means this crazy guy @GovTimWalz Either he’s an idiot or he did it on purpose—and I think he’s both.” pic.twitter.com/0AZ5YGUZ2V
