We got a Rockstar doormat before GTA 6: Rockstar drops new merch for GTA, Red Dead Redemption, and Bully ahead of the holidays

Rockstar released a bunch of new official merchandise, including T-shirts, candles, pins and even a rug, presumably in anticipation of holiday shoppers, and shockingly, decided to play it safe. GTA 6 in tandem.

On the official Rockstar website websitethe company announced and showed off its new hardware, and unfortunately, there are some things I really like. Varsity sweatshirt collectionwaving Rockstar Games the varsity yellow stitching logo looks classy in all three colors – maroon, maroon, black and navy – and the shirts, which feature iconic screenshots from various Rockstar games including GTA 3-5, Red Dead Redemption 2, Manhunt and Bully, are, well, pretty iconic.

But this rug – that damn rug – turns this unremarkable product into a product page that offers only cruel irony. We've known for weeks now that GTA 6 has been delayed another six months to November 19, 2026, but I don't think anyone expected we'd get a damn rag from Rockstar before the release of the studio's oh-so-long-awaited sequel. Somehow this rug, made from 100% coconut coir, makes the GTA 6 wait even more difficult.

If this is starting to sound like I have a personal vendetta against this rug, let me assure you that is not the case. It looks like a nice welcome mat with the company motto “Sorry, Be Polite” above the Rockstar logo. I will say that this catchphrase doesn't sound the same as it used to. protesters accepted it in support recently laid off workers some statements were examples union busting at Rockstar. Damn, maybe I actually have a grudge against this rug.
