The Cleveland Browns welcomed four CFL players to practice Friday, including defensive end Jaylon Hutchings, running backs Trey Vavala and Isaiah Wooden Sr. and punter Nick Constantinou.
Hutchings recorded 39 defensive tackles, eight sacks and one forced fumble in 17 CFL regular season games in 2025, his first season as a starter for the Calgary Stampeders. The six-foot, 304-pound pass rusher was the league's best defensive tackle, according to All-CFL data. Professional Football (PFF).
The 25-year-old signed with the Stampeders at the end of the 2024 season, suiting up for two regular-season games and making two tackles on defense. Earlier that year, Hutchings had a brief stint with the Chicago Bears but was released near the end of the team's training camp.
The Forney, Texas native starred at Texas Tech University, where he recorded 193 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one pass breakup in 61 games. He had knee surgery late in his final season with the Red Raiders, which hurt his stock in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Vaval was recently named the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie and Most Outstanding Special Teams Player. He led the league in punt return yards (957), punt return yards (391) and total punt return touchdowns (four) in 2025, while also ranking third in all-purpose yards (2,266) and fifth in field goal yards (918).
He also started four games at defensive end for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, recording 21 defensive tackles, four special teams tackles and one interception.
The 25-year-old finished his collegiate career at the University of Minnesota, where in 25 games he recorded 69 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 14 pass knockdowns, five blocks, two interceptions, two touchdowns and one sack. The five-foot-eleven, 171-pound speedster from Blue Springs, Missouri, attended training camp with the Atlanta Falcons in 2024 before heading to Canada.
Vaval has worked for three NFL teams to date, including New Orleans Saints And New York Jets.
Wooden played 14 regular season games for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2025, leading the CFL in punt return average (15.0) and ranking second in kickoff return average (26.3). He recorded a total of 1,782 yards and three return touchdowns despite suffering a midseason hand injury.
The 25-year-old from Southern Utah first signed with the BC Lions in 2024 and spent time on the team's practice squad, although he was later released and signed in Hamilton. He reportedly ran the forty-yard dash in 4.38 seconds at his pro day last year.
The five-foot-nine, 170-pound returner also previously trained for New Orleans Saints And New York Jets.
In 2025, Constantinou punted 90 times for the Tiger-Cats, averaging 48.3 gross yards and 38.0 punt yards while kicking 11 times inside the 10-yard line and scoring five solo scores.
The 26-year-old native of Melbourne, Australia, was selected in the first round of the 2024 CFL Global Draft by Texas A&M University. As a rookie, he scored 102 times for Hamilton, averaging 47.1 yards and 36.8 net yards.
This was Konstantin's first training session in the off-season. He tried out for six teams last offseason, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills, but was not given a contract.
NFL Practice Window opened on Monday, November 17th.. The window to sign with an NFL team opens January 5, 2026 and ends February 10, 2026 at 12:01 pm EST.
NFL teams must request permission from CFL franchises to train players, and that request cannot be denied. CFL players can opt out of their agreements north of the border if an NFL team offers a contract, although their CFL team retains its rights for the duration of the voided contract.
Hutchings and Wooden are awaiting free agency, while Vaval and Constantinou each have a year left on their CFL rookie contracts.
