Dallas Cowboys will look to extend their winning streak to four games in Week 14, but will have to end that matchup on Thursday night with Detroit Lions without one of their stellar extensions.
In the third quarter, CeeDee Lamb injured while attempting to catch a touchdown. He hit his head on the turf and was quickly ruled out of the game by Cowboys medical staff due to a concussion, according to the Amazon broadcast.
See what happened here:
Lamb was in the midst of another impressive performance, catching six passes for 123 yards before leaving the contest. The four-time Pro Bowl receiver caught 51 passes for 744 yards and three touchdowns in nine games played this week.
This unfortunate development opens the door for George Pickensentering this week, ranked second in receiving yards with 1,142. Former Pittsburgh players Steeler and Lamb are the only duo in Cowboys history to average 80 yards per game in a season. Naturally, after Lamb left, Detroit's defense turned its attention to Pickens, which created an opportunity Ryan Flournoy some possibilities for play. In the fourth quarter, he caught a 42-yard pass to pull Dallas within three points.
If there's a silver lining to Lamb's injury, it's that he'll have more time to recover from his mini-bye in Dallas. Next up for the Cowboys will be Minnesota Vikings December 14.
