The next chapter of SPLITGATE is on its way
1047 Games has unveiled the next stage of its portal shooter. PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted presentation. This new version, called SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded, will be free to play on December 17th on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and Windows, as well as on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The studio also announced the release of a short documentary on December 9th, highlighting the evolution of the project, the new focus on arena-style combat and the value of community feedback throughout the development process. According to design director Josh Watson, the goal was to restore SEPARATE GATES from the ground up, combining the strongest elements from both previous installments and enhancing the overall experience. Watson joined 1047 Games earlier this year, bringing experience from his time as a director. Rocket League.
Over the past year, the team has regularly conducted public tests, gathered input from the wider community, and openly shared changes as development progressed. CEO Ian Proulx noted that this collective feedback has returned the studio to a cleaner arena image.
SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded introduces extensive updates. The game removes factions, abilities, and certain equipment to focus on fast, classic arena combat. The developers have reworked the Progression and rating system. Players will be able to explore five new maps, as well as six redesigns, as well as three new primary weapons and a new power weapon, the Railgun. New arena modes, improved playlist selection, and a classic arena mode that starts every match on equal footing further reinforce the return to the series' core style.
In addition, the team will reduce prices in the store, make the battle pass easier and improve the quality of the appearance. They will share more information as the launch date approaches.
