Treasury Department. Scott Bessent began investigating after City magazine reported that “federal counterterrorism sources” confirmed that “millions of dollars in stolen funds were sent back to Somalia” and ended up “in the hands” of the terrorist group.

“Even after all of this, you do not appear the least bit concerned…You have been asked what specific actions have been taken to put an end to this extraordinary and unprecedented abuse and fraud. To date, you have not provided a single response, and the scope of the fraud continues to expand,” the congressmen wrote. “This can only be recognized by you and your administration as negligence or complete incompetence. Despite this, you have embarrassed the state of Minnesota and, even worse, allowed waste, fraud and abuse on a grand scale.”

DOT's review found that the state was issuing non-resident CDLs to drivers whose legal presence in the U.S. had expired, whose legal presence in the U.S. had not been verified, and who were generally prohibited from obtaining such licenses.

“Not only is your administration acting in a manner that violates federal orders and regulations and jeopardizes funding for important Minnesota infrastructure projects, you are knowingly putting Minnesotans and other Americans at risk,” the members continued in their letter. “This is unacceptable and dangerous.”

“Governor Walz, the nation is watching. We demand that you put Minnesotans – and Americans – first on their tax dollars, their social services, and most importantly, their safety. Immediately cancel these illegally issued CDLs and follow the law.”

In an exclusive statement to Breitbart News, Stauber said: “First, there were rampant fraud schemes like Feed Our Future and Housing Stabilization Services that siphoned off billions of taxpayer dollars and some even went to terrorists. Now this administration is actively compromising security.” [of] drivers on our roads. This waste, fraud and abuse must end. Minnesotans and the American people deserve better.”
