Seattle Mariners first baseman Josh Naylor of Mississauga, Ont., won the 2025 Tip O'Neill Award, given to the top Canadian in Major League Baseball.
Naylor hit .295 with 92 RBIs and 30 stolen bases, leading all Canadians, splitting the season between Arizona and Seattle. He also ranked second among Canadian major leaguers in hits (160), runs (81), home runs (20), doubles (29) and walks (48).
The 28-year-old earned the award ahead of Boston's Nick Pivetta, Toronto's Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Cleveland's Cade Smith.
Naylor had a strong September as Seattle competed for the division title.
He then starred in the playoffs, batting .340 and setting several Canadian postseason records.
After the season, Naylor re-signed with Seattle to a five-year contract worth US$92.5 million.
