“Of course we get HBO Max here soon… huh?” is a sentence I have said at least once a month for the past few years. Luckily, I don't have to bore people with this question anymore, as it has just been confirmed that HBO Max will officially launch in the UK in March 2026.
Of course, that's still three months away, but I'm all for a little healthy anticipation. While American fans were able to access all of the streamer's content without any issues, UK fans watched the show via Sky TV thanks to their ongoing partnership.
Why Brits need to watch Pitt when HBO Max launches in the UK in March 2026
Despite the UK being almost a year behind, Pitt is still in a league of its own. As the entire season plays out in one day shift, we follow the emergency department team in Pittsburgh (known as “Pitt”) as they deal with the influx of cases.
We have an experienced staff led by the complex and broken Dr. Robbie (Noah Wyle), we have young medical students, and we have patients with a wide range of problems, including some who don't really want to be there.
Essentially, it feels like we're watching a drama unfold in real time, and the intensity never lets up. In fact, by the time we get to episode 12, the storylines have reached unprecedented levels of tension (and that's to say the least, without any spoilers).
The fact that so many simultaneous storylines can be explored in such a way that the stakes are both high and accessible is a testament to how good the art is Pitt is. All its cylinders are always firing, capturing the frenetic energy of its location, never compromising what the fictional narrative needs to succeed.
And that's all before the epic performances. It's no surprise that almost everyone PittThe main cast was nominated for an Emmy this year, and I don't think we should expect it to end there. Pitt Season 2 approaches.
We know that Season 2 starts on January 8th and will pick up 10 months after Season 1 and take place over the Fourth of July weekend. If there's one thing that can raise the stakes in an already stressful environment, it's the holiday season.
Honestly, I'm looking forward to season two, although I'm secretly annoyed that I can no longer complacently watch season one when my friends didn't show up in March. However, I think greatness cannot last forever.
