A terrible secret awaits in grave regrets
Indie developer Studio Grail has unveiled Grave Regrets, a dark visual novel that combines psychological horror and surreal detective mystery wrapped in a vibrant Japanese anime style. Grave Regrets immerses players in a gripping story that explores grief, fragile relationships, and human obsession, while delving into themes of justice and guilt. Players navigate a tightly written, branching narrative with multiple endings, where every choice has weight and unnecessary reveal is kept to a minimum.
The game's atmosphere is enhanced by an original soundtrack composed by ZIZZ STUDIO veteran Yo Ohyama. Ohyama has created acclaimed anime-inspired visual novels and soundtracks including Saya no Uta and Demonbane. His recent projects include working as a recording engineer at Silent Hill f and Dolls Nest's musical director, who has a wealth of experience creating mood and tension through music.
Grave Regrets will be released on PC, macOS and Linux; however, there is no specific release date yet. The game will initially be available in English, with a Japanese localization being considered depending on the success of a future Kickstarter campaign. With a combination of eerie visuals, psychological storytelling and haunting tunes, Grave Regrets positions itself as a standout game for fans of dark, narrative-driven experiences.
