Jobs for men signed a three-year production deal with Paramount to develop and produce feature films and television projects for the studio. The agreement will come into force on January 2.nd2026: Under the terms of the deal, Chu and his production company will be based at the Paramount site and work closely with Paramount Pictures Co-chairs Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein, Motion Picture Group President Don Granger and Paramount Television Studios President Matt Thunell.
Most recently, Chu led Evil: For good, which opened in November and now holds the record for the biggest worldwide opening for a film based on a Broadway show and the second-biggest domestic box office opening of 2025.
Chu also directed Wickedthe first part of a two-part adaptation of the record-breaking Broadway musical. Released in 2024, the film became the highest-grossing film adaptation of a Broadway musical ever, earning more than $756 million worldwide and receiving critical acclaim.
Chu previously led the global phenomenon Crazy Rich Asianswhich became the highest-grossing romantic comedy in nearly a decade of its release and marked a watershed moment for Asian and Asian-American representation in Hollywood. The film received widespread critical acclaim and was nominated for numerous awards, including the Critics' Choice Awards, SAG Awards, Golden Globes and PGA.
