Never-before-seen footage shows the moment ICE agents arrested a woman with family ties to the White House press secretary. Caroline Leavitt.
TMZ obtained video showing Bruna Caroline Ferreiramother of a nephew, Caroline, was surrounded by federal immigration agents in Massachusetts last month.
Surveillance footage shows Ferreira, originally from Brazil, leaving her apartment in Revere, Massachusetts, in a sedan around 12:30 p.m. on November 12… when suddenly her path is blocked by five unmarked cars.
A group of agents jump out of their cars and the next thing you see is Ferreira putting her hands behind her back and being handcuffed.
Ferreira is put in the back seat of the SUV and the ICE agents get back in their cars and drive away… someone takes her car too.
DHS Representative told us earlier Ferreira entered the US on a B2 tourist visa, which required her to leave the US by June 6, 1999.
The spokesman called her an “illegal criminal from Brazil” and said she had previously been arrested for battery.
Ferreira is currently being held at the ICE Processing Center in South Louisiana and is in the process of being removed.
Caroline's nephew reportedly lives permanently in New Hampshire with his brother. Michael. Caroline apparently hasn't spoken to Ferreira in years.
Bruna's lawyer Todd Pomerleautells TMZ… “I was just shown a video of my client Bruna Ferreira documenting her being illegally arrested by officials who appear to be ICE. But it's hard to tell because they have masks on their faces and are in unmarked vehicles. No warrant was presented. A common tactic these days.”
Pomerleau continues… “This is targeted, unconstitutional depravity. A single mother who owns two businesses and is simply waiting for a green card—like tens of thousands of others—is now sitting in a for-profit prison in Louisiana, deprived of her child just before the holidays.”
Pomerleau writes… “Bruna had no problems with the Leavitt family. Caroline is her son's godmother, she was chosen over her own sister, and Michael Sr. is a very good father. Bruna was going to pick up her son Michael Jr. after school, as she did several days a week. He lived with her until kindergarten, but is now looking forward to his mother's warm embrace.”
Pomerleau concludes: “It’s terrible. We look forward to her day in court.”
