Metroid Prime 4: Beyond chose a new voice actress for Samus.
If (or should happen) you succumb to the barrage of enemies that come towards you in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, releasing tomorrow, you won't hear Jennifer Hale screaming in pain.
Most likely for this release is Hale, who lent her vocal talents to the role of Samus in the original. Metroid Prime trilogy – was instead replaced by American stage and voice actress Erin Yvette.

You may have already heard Yvette's voice in many early works. Yvette's previous video game roles include Snow White in Test games' The Wolf Among Us and Alex in Night School Studio's debut film Oxenfree.
Most recently, the actress also voiced Blonde Blazer in AdHoc's excellent superhero comedy Dispatch (I honestly can't recommend it enough).
It's worth noting, however, that while Yvette is credited with voicing Samus in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the character doesn't exactly talk your ear off in the game. Rather, it's more about those all-important sounds of effort as Samus makes her way through the world, and of course, that death scream. To give more context, I have it on good authority that Yvette's performance in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is on par with Hale's performance as Samus in Metroid Prime 3.
For more on Samus' chatter (or lack thereof), our Alex recently shared his thoughts on the nearly silent protagonist of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. You can check it here: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond's chatty Space Marine companions aren't all that bad—that game's plot problem is Samus..
As for the game itself, it's out tomorrow, so it won't be long until you hear Yvette's grunt in action for yourself. “Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is fun enough and has glimpses of vintage Metroid, but this game could and should have been more,” the post reads.
