Seablip Unveils the Castle Update at the Best Indie Games Winter Showcase

Castle battles await in Siblip

Siblip was once again in the spotlight at the winter Best Indie Games exhibition, presenting a fresh teaser for the long-awaited Castle Update. The preview provided a first look at castle battles, teammates, and a major rebalancing of enemy forces. To mark the occasion, the game is currently available with a 10% discount until December 8th, giving players a timely chance to embark on an adventure.

The upcoming update introduces a full-fledged castle battle mode, allowing players to build and defend a fortress on their home island or travel the seas to challenge enemy fortifications. This is one of the biggest additions since the game launched in Early Access, adding a new layer of strategy to the familiar rhythm of exploration and ship combat.

Soon, players will be able to build their own castle on the island's workbench, hire a companion to travel with them, and face off against twenty-six enemy castles belonging to bluecoats, redcoats, and pirates. Five of these fortresses serve as the site of legendary battles designed to push experienced captains to further developments. A full trailer and more details are expected in the near future.

Seablip still offers a colorful open world dotted with islands, resources, and rivals. Inspired by classics like Faster Than Light and Sid Meier's Pirates, the game encourages free play through exploration, building and fishing. Ships become stronger as you add more cannons or storage facilities, and collect resources from forests, mines, and small island farms. The journey is accompanied by a variety of activities: from treasure hunting to trading goods or concluding contracts for rewards.

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign and a positive demo during Steam Next Fest, individual developer Jardar Solly launched Seablip into early access last year and plans to release ongoing updates ahead of its full release.
