Decemberborn Interactive, an independent studio from Sweden, presented a new gameplay trailer for the game. Cathedral: Curse of the Crow during the winter presentation of the best indie games. The report provides the most in-depth look yet at the game's expanding world, its sharper sense of movement and improved approach to combat.
The footage shows how the foundations of the original cathedral are developed in this stand-alone prequel. Its design focuses more on fluid movement, layered encounters, and a world that invites patients to discover. Viewers will be able to immediately see how these advanced systems change the adventure. Along with a preview of the new threats that await in the Shadow Forest and other newly emerged regions.
There are a few extras that stand out in the trailer. Players now have access to a full world map with fast travel options, making extensive exploration more convenient. Ranged combat rounds out the toolbox with the bow and arrow, encouraging more thoughtful approaches to combat. The newly added dash ability creates fluid movements and increases the rhythm of melee combat. The shadowy forest harbors new types of enemies, and unexplored areas are inhabited by creatures that require close attention. The artifact upgrade system has also grown, offering switchable abilities and branching skill trees.
Curse of the Crow takes place in the wider Cathedral universe. It tells the story of Raven, a trained Shadow Guardian. The journey takes place through cursed forests, abandoned ruins and buried fortresses, where Crow searches for the roots of the Guardian order and the darkness that rises against it. Combat rewards precision, timing and awareness, while additional stealth tools allow you to infiltrate your opponent without being noticed. The world is seamless and hand-crafted, combining familiar locations with expansive new locations created using detailed pixel art and atmospheric lighting.
