The New York Giants special teams are having a tough night in Foxboro as kicker Youngho Koo made the strangest first field goal attempt of the Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants. New England Patriots.
After tight end Theo Johnson failed to catch a touchdown. Giants We wanted it to be a seven-point game with a 47-yard field goal by Koo, who had scored in New York's last three games.
But when Koo threw a kick for some reason, he dug his foot into the turf and simply limped away without touching the football.

It looked like Koo's left foot was too close to the ball, which could have caused it to be dislodged. But he simply missed the kick, and holder and punter Jamie Gillan was coached by several Patriots for what is technically a sack on the stat sheet.

The game saw a dramatic shift in momentum as the Giants got the stop they desperately needed after scoring a touchdown in the opening 17-0 run. The Patriots ended up winning the game 33-15.
The big deficit was fueled by another Giants special teams error, but an impressive showing by the Patriots as Marcus Jones returned a punt from Gillan 94 yards for the first touchdown of the game.

And things got worse in New York after the Patriots made it 24-7 on Drake May's perfect pass to Kyle Williams when Giants returner Gunner Olszewski was drilled by Christian Ellis on a kick return.
He fumbled the ball after helmet-to-helmet contact and the Patriots recovered. They ended up adding three more points to the board.
New York entered this prime-time matchup having had a season in direct opposition to the Patriots, who had won their last nine games. The Giants have lost six games in a row, and their loss to the Giants Detroit Lions they were officially eliminated from playoff contention in last week's overtime.

There was some hope, however, as rookie quarterback Jackson Dart was not in concussion protocol. But special teams woes sapped any momentum the Giants had when they entered the locker room down 30-7 in Foxboro.
