Welcome to Fred's Idle Garden
Following its debut at Steam Next Fest this October, Fred's Holiday Garden officially launched its demo version on the platform so that everyone can try it out. What's even more interesting is that custom developer Pretty Fly Games has added a lot of features to the game based on player feedback.
In the latest episode of Indie Sunday, the developer excitedly stated: “My game was part of October's Steam Next Fest and I received a lot of feedback during the event. Much of that feedback has now been added to the game and I hope you enjoy it. Please continue to receive feedback.”
The game offers a gentle farming experience that grows quietly in the background as you go about your daily chores. It invites you to grow various crops, such as carrots and corn, and then turn the crops into coins that will help expand your small plot of land. These earnings open the door to new types of plants, character upgrades, and decorative items that will add personality to your space.
A strong emphasis on personalization gives the garden a pleasant sense of ownership. Trees, flowers, small structures and other elements allow each player to build a place that reflects their taste. Soft visuals and a slow pace create a peaceful haven where creativity can blossom at its own pace.
Automation is at the center of the experience. Your character does the planting, watering, and harvesting, allowing the garden to flourish even while you're focused on other tasks. The window can be adjusted to fit the screen and left aside while working. You can return at any time to expand the layout, add new elements, or specify next steps. So what are you waiting for? Start your farming adventure in the new demo version now.
