Much of the news over the past few days has focused on the horrific attack on National Guard members in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, and the motives and background of the alleged shooter.
Attorney General Pam Bondi joined Shannon Bream on Fox News Sunday to discuss the attack, the investigation, and what is known about the suspect and how he became radicalized.
During the segment, Bream also asked Bondi about congressional calls for oversight of U.S. military strikes on Venezuelan vessels as part of efforts to combat narco-terrorism. Bondi reaffirmed the administration's commitment to keeping Americans safe from “this poison that is flowing into our country,” stressing that the administration will take any legal action to do so. Bondi also had a word of wisdom for narco-terrorists.

BREAM: I want to ask you about what happened overnight. We've heard that the top Democrat and the top Republican on the House Armed Services Committee are going to join what's going on in the Senate, a bipartisan call – to get more information about what's happening with these strikes off the coast of Venezuela, off the coast there. We have created a military presence there, a very strong one. A number of legislators are asking the Office of Legal Counsel for a memo that purports to provide a legal basis for what is happening – will it be declassified? Will you take this to legislators or make it public in some way so we can see the legal basis for what's going on?
After briefly returning to the issue of the deployment of National Guard troops and the ongoing legal battles facing the administration in its efforts to keep American cities safe, Bondy turned to the issue of drugs:
BONDI: We are determined to destroy these narco-terrorists. President Trump, Marco Rubio, our entire administration. And this goes back to Joe Biden allowing these foreign terrorist organizations into our country, into our country through Mexico. They are narco-terrorists – what you are now showing on the screen (video of November 15 about the explosion of a ship in the Eastern Pacific Ocean) are terrorists, and they are blown up.
We're not going to agree – you know, these Democrats don't want to agree with us. This is crazy. The drugs that come into our country from these terrorists are killing our children. And… if the Democrats don't protect our children, Donald Trump will – by any means we need, within the legal framework of our society, and that's what we do.
Regarding the secret note, I'm not going to discuss that, but I will say that Venezuelan drug traffickers need to tread very, very carefully because if you are a narco-terrorist, if you are TdA, we are going after you. President Trump has made it clear: Thanks to Joe Biden, they will no longer come to our country; they will no longer kill our children with this poison that comes into our country from Venezuela, from Mexico, from all these other countries – fentanyl is made in China. That's what it's about: protecting Americans every single day, Shannon. We must.
We can expect continued fighting/discussion between Congress and the Administration on this issue (along with the ongoing fallout from the Seditious Six video), but I don't think the Administration will turn a blind eye to it.
