Goals from Maxime De Cuyper and Stefanos Tsimas in each half earned Brighton a hard-fought 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
The Seagulls picked up their third win in four to move up to fifth in the Premier League table, a result that also served as sweet revenge for the 7-0 thrashing they endured at this stadium back in February.

Brighton dominated the match before Forest returned to the game, but Fabian Hurtzeler's side broke the deadlock with their 13th shot of the half when De Kuyper scored his second goal of the season.
Matz Sels made a stunning double save to keep Forest in contention in the second period while Bart Verbruggen denied Igor Jesus at the other end, but Brighton sealed the points late in the game with substitute Tsimas's first league goal.
Forest's defeat ended their five-game unbeaten run in all competitions and was only their second league defeat since Sean Dyche became manager, leaving them just one point above the relegation places.

Brighton kept the hosts in their own half for most of the opening minutes, causing a great sense of nervousness at the City Ground, with De Kuyper crossing twice behind the Forest backline but the visitors were unable to take advantage.
The visitors also came close to an early goal, with a series of shots blocked before Ibrahim Sangare blocked Georginio Rutter's shot.
Forest did nothing to threaten the Brighton goal, with Morgan Gibbs-White flying high over the crossbar to bring the first quarter to a close.

The hosts appeared to have weathered the early storm in Brighton and recorded their first shot on target when Verbruggen saved Nicolas Dominguez's effort.
Dyche's team managed to turn the tide for a while and were in the lead before the break. Dominguez found Gibbs-White, who fired a shot towards goal, but at the last second saw the ball turn the wrong side of the post.
However, Brighton took the lead by half-time.
A long ball found its way to Rutter, who teased the ball across and, aided by Danny Welbeck's pass, it opened up space for De Cuyper, who expertly slotted the ball past Sels.

Forest tried to equalize after the break, but Gibbs-White's corner shot went wide again.
The City Ground crowd began to lose patience as they thought the visitors were trying to slow the game down to maintain their 1–0 lead.
Forest had goalkeeper Sels to thank for keeping the deficit level with a fantastic double save to initially deny Diego Gomez before he jumped up to keep out Ferdi Kadioglu's shot when it looked like he would score.

And Forest almost punished them with an equalizer at the other end of the field, but Verbruggen denied Igor Jesus.
The hosts then brought their players onto the field, which led to Brighton's second goal in the 88th minute. Morato misjudged Sels' header, allowing Tsimas to attack and seal the win.
