Looking for the perfect training headband is like making friends as an adult – difficult, but so worth it. So when our editors tried the Lululemon Luxtreme Training Band, there were a lot of factors to consider.
Does a face covering protect against flying objects? How elastic is the strap and does it retain its shape after several wears? And most importantly, how does it control sweating during intense cardio or lifting? The headband, designed for workouts, claims that it will keep your hair in place during your workout while cradling your head in all the right places. The material is specially made from Lycra fiber to provide a more secure fit to the strap (and keep sweat off your face).
With nearly 600 reviews, the Lululemon Luxtreme Workout Headband has a 4.4-star rating on its website. One reviewer said: “I have a lot of these headbands and love them! They are great without being too thick.” Another disagreed, saying: “Cute headband that can be worn as an accessory rather than full coverage.” So is it worth it or not? Let's check it out.
For the last batch 5 people try, Glamor Editors try out Lululemon's Luxtreme training headband to see how well it actually performs under pressure (and sweat). Read on to see our findings.

I've long been a fan of Lululemon headbands, both for how well they hold my hair in place during the hot summer months and how cute they look. This headband is no exception. It really held my hair in place during Pilates and I liked that it was thin enough to be thin and not take up my entire head. Plus, who doesn't love Lulu?

I Love nice headband so I'm picky about the ones I keep in rotation. I recently wore this Lululemon headband while running a 5K and loved how it felt throughout the entire run. I have long, thick hair, so my headbands fall off when I run, and I hate distractions like that. As someone who is currently training for a 10K race, I've been thinking about running gear to recommend, and this Lululemon headband has become my favorite. He didn't fall, but he didn't squeeze my head while running. It protected my baby hairs and the moisture-wicking fabric helped keep me drier.

I have used the Lululemon Luxtreme Training headband several times for different activities. I usually run and strength train, and I like to let my curly hair down while I work out. For this reason, I prefer a thick and wide headband to hold my hair and keep my forehead dry from sweat. The velvet on the inside of the headband and the Lycra material keep it flexible and secure on my head, but I don't feel like my hair is pulled back or protected as much as with other headbands. I will definitely keep this in my dressing rotation, but it won't be the first dressing I choose.

I'm not usually a headband fan—it's always too hard to get one to stay on my super-straight hair—so I was admittedly skeptical of Lululemon's claims that Luxtreme is designed to stay in place during a workout. However, nothing can disrupt the flow of yoga like hair falling in your face in the middle of downward-facing dog, so I was open enough to give it a try. My thoughts? Pleasantly surprised! Like, Really surprised. While it's not exactly perfect, the velvet strip inside does remain more secure than any other headband I've tried. I also had the opportunity to test out the sweat-wicking technology by wearing it during the summer heat—and that might be the best thing about it. My morning commute on a 90-degree day was much better thanks to this headband that kept my hair out of my face and didn't crease.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the Lululemon headband! The tapered width is a very interesting detail that I haven't seen on other headbands before – and it seems more thoughtful as a workout accessory rather than just a fashion accessory (which is how I usually wear them). However, he performed very well during yoga; it stayed in place the entire time thanks to the grip strips along the edges. I wore my hair in a ponytail and my baby hair was neatly kept throughout the entire session. It's functional, polished, and yet surprisingly affordable, making it a winner in my book.
