Thanks, but there are no tanks

Celebrating your team's loss is bad sportsmanship. Simply getting number one does not guarantee a winner. It would be nice to have a superstar on the ice, but let's face it, Edmonton has had plenty of top players over the last 30 years and just as many Stanley Cups as Calgary. Play harddo your best and let the talking heads talk to each other. Go, Flame, go!

Unpleasant comments
Women should never have to put up with the vile or nasty comments Donald Trump makes about female reporters. I call them “pigs” or “being stupid” openly among colleagues is the act of a fourth grader. This brainless President's disrespect and use of obscene and derogatory language towards others is disgusting and highly inappropriate for the leader of any nation.

So many obstacles
Why is it that when we talk about being a country, we have so many groups that can prevent what is in the national interest? Also, why don't provincial premiers ever consider other provinces? I keep hearing from (Ontario Premier Doug) Ford about what he needs help with, and the same from BC, but no one mentions the canola farmers who need help too. With pressure groups, indigenous groups, provincial rights, etc., how are we ever going to get anywhere?

Guilbeault left
Well, some progress has been made on the pipeline, and at least the Liberal government has rolled back most of the emissions restrictions that have been a stumbling block for the oil industry. But the bigger news was that (Steven) Guilbeau the Great gave up his briefcase, took the ball and went home. No climbing the political ladder, but who knows, maybe the world will need another arborist. Good riddance.

Courting China
(Re: “Canada is moving quickly to strengthen ties with Chinaaccording to the Canadian Ambassador, Calgarysun.com.) Has our Prime Minister gone cotton-picking crazy? As a communist country with close ties to both Russia and North Korea, Mark Carney is heading down a very dark path with China. It's like building a house right over the San Andreas Fault without considering the consequences of such a ridiculous move by Carney.
