As for how Lelands got his hands on the period piece, it's an interesting story.
According to Lelands, Foreman was apparently a neighbor of the shipper's mother in Houston in the 1970s when George asked if he could store boxes in her garage. She agreed.
Years later, while a neighbor's daughter was going through some of her mom's belongings, she came across a pile of her friend's belongings, including trophies, a driver's license and a gold medal!
Now the late, great Foreman's medal can be yours.
Happy bidding!
