Sandeep Chauhan retires from CONNECT Music Licensing as Patrick Rodgers and Janet Turner take the organization into its next chapter
Toronto, Ontario – 11/28/25 – Having successfully completed his mandate to transform CONNECT's music licensing, President Sandeep Chauhan is stepping down, having completed a mission that has transformed the organization's operations, governance and strategic partnerships.
Since joining CONNECT, Chauhan has led a comprehensive restructuring that included moving independent labels to Panorama (formerly SOPROQ) and streamlining internal processes. The organization is now entirely focused on licensing on behalf of its major record labels.
“Over the past two and a half years, we have redefined CONNECT's operations, reimagined its management, established a groundbreaking partnership with Panorama, and will be putting more money into the hands of Canadian creators. I'm proud of everything we've achieved and even more proud of the dedicated team that made it possible.Chauhan said.
“Sundeep's Panorama Partnership negotiations have transformed the collective licensing landscape in Canada, creating an innovative, streamlined and future-ready structure for both participants and licensees.said CONNECT Chairman Marcel Deluca.
CONNECT board member Steve Teixeira stated: “Sandeep brought new thinking to CONNECT—restructuring management, modernizing operations, and accelerating payments through smarter data and process improvements.»
Chauhan will remain involved with the project until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition of control. With both CONNECT and Music Canada now being the same major label, Patrick Rogers, CEO of Music Canada, will lead the streamlined management structure supporting CONNECT.
CONNECT's day-to-day operations and licensing services will be led by newly appointed chief executive Janet Turner, who has been with CONNECT for over 18 years and has played a central role throughout the transformation effort.
“Janet has long been a cornerstone of CONNECT. Her deep relationships, strong judgment and dedication to our members have been instrumental in the organization's growth, and we have every confidence in her ability to continue CONNECT's transformation into the next chapter.– said Rogers.
