Andy Ruiz is one of only three men to ever win Anthony Joshua in the ring… and he was kind enough to share some great advice with us. Jake Paul before his fight on December 19th!!
Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs) handed Joshua his first career loss in 2019 with a seventh-round technical knockout of their main event bout at Madison Square Garden in New York – one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.
However, we asked Ruiz, who was handing out turkeys at the New Village Girls Academy Turkey Drive in Los Angeles this week, if he had any suggestions he'd like to leave with the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
“Just hit him with your right hand,” Ruiz said. “That’s what right-hander Jake Paul is looking for and if he lands he can do some good damage.”
He also advises Paul to go into the ring “fearless” and not be afraid of Joshua, despite the size difference.
“A lot of people underestimate Jake Paul, but he's actually a good fighter, dedicated to his craft, and that's what I like about him,” Ruiz said.
FYI, while Ruiz has been busy getting back into the ring – which is important to him as the SNAP/EBT crisis has affected communities – he has revealed the boxer he would like to see in the ring with him.
