Nintendo to acquire Bandai Namco Studios Singapore

Nintendo will acquire Bandai Namco Studios Singapore (BNSS) to strengthen its development structure.

The Japanese company said that BNSS will become a subsidiary of Nintendo and will continue to develop video games under the new name Nintendo Studios Singapore.

Nintendo plans to acquire 80 percent of BNSS on April 1, 2026. It will then acquire the remaining shares “once the subsidiary's operations have stabilized.”

BNSS previously collaborated with Nintendo on Platoon 3 assisting with concept art, character modeling, environmental modeling and animation. He has also worked on other major franchises such as Ace Combat and Tekken.

“BNSS was founded as one of Bandai Namco Group's overseas bases and is a development company with extensive experience in creating in-game art materials. “She has contributed to the development of Nintendo games, including the Splatoon series, and maintains an ongoing business relationship with Nintendo.” reads a brief press release on Nintendo's investor site..

“Taking into account this business track record, Nintendo has decided to acquire shares of BNSS to strengthen the development structure of the Nintendo Group.”

Nintendo recently opened a new local business in Singapore to accelerate your business in Southeast Asia. The company said the acquisition will have only a minor impact on its results for the current fiscal year.
