I never thought I'd be the type of person who would ever just set it and forget it when it comes to technology, but my recent experience of upgrading our NordVPN Review proved that I was indeed wrong.
NordVPN Pro Threat Protection is NordVPN's system that helps protect your device from ads, trackers, malware, and malicious websites or downloads. It can do a few other protective tricks—like warning you about scams and scams, blocking adult sites, and indicating that search results are safe—but it's Threat Protection Pro's security capabilities that really make it stand out.
When we run it through our thorough testingThreat Protection Pro outperforms most other VPNs. It blocked 86% of malware links, 91% of phishing links, and 54% of ads—the latter of which was only surpassed by Surfshark and Proton.
However, during my time using it, I found little reason to worry about its ad blocking capabilities and was pleasantly impressed by the feature that blocks malicious sites – even if, oddly enough, it sometimes thought other VPN companies were a threat!
Moreover, now it is even cheaper than it was when I bought it. The NordVPN Plus plan, the cheapest way to access NordVPN's Threat Protection Pro, currently costs just $3.89 per month ($105.03 upfront bill) and comes with three months free.
It should be noted that, unfortunately, mobile devices only receive Threat Protection, the basic version of the product. It offers a more limited version of the protection you'd expect from Threat Protection Pro, but it's still effective enough to be convenient.
If you really want complete protection on your phone, Surfshark is the best choice due to its complete antivirus capabilities. However, it didn't perform as well as Threat Protection Pro on computers, so it's a bit of a sacrifice anyway.
There are, of course, several Black Friday Antivirus Deals You might want to look instead if you want stronger guarantees, which we recommend along with any VPN antivirus product. But if you ask me, you won't find anything better than NordVPN if you just need to add it. It's also worth remembering that NordVPN Plus includes a number of other additional features, such as NordPass, data leak detection, and more, at a reduced price.
