Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate! I'm just going to come out and say it: I'm very grateful for midweek football at the right time in the UK and have the pleasure of bringing it to you, wherever you are, on this beautiful blue marble. I just hope we feast as well on the lawn as many of you do at your tables.
Thanksgiving is a tradition, so our appetizer is served hot from Detroit, just like it has been since 1934, and it can be a classic between (7-4) Lions and (7-3-1) Green Bay Packers. The records look good, but they both still trail the Chicago Bears in the NFC North, while Detroit will simply miss out on the wild card as it stands due to Green Bay's tie. So victory is the only option, if it isn't already, as these great rivals prepare for their 193rd meeting. The Packers hold a significant all-time lead with a 107-78-7 record.
For the network it is (5-5-1) Dallas Cowboys spend (6-5) Kansas City Chiefs in what will be Patrick Mahomes' Thanksgiving debut. Team America vs Dynasty. The two heavyweights have been unlucky at times this season, but they're still pushing for the postseason, especially after both pulled off thrilling comeback wins last week. The Chiefs knocked off the Colts in overtime when they came back with a 20-9 lead in the 4th quarter while the Cowboys said, “Hold my turkey,” giving the Eagles a 21-0 lead, but then shut out the Super Bowl champions to win 24-21. Obviously, when Dallas and KC are in rhythm, they can score in droves, so is anyone ready for a shootout?
