Thanksgiving is about family, feasting and football. And in the case of legendary TV personality John Madden and the Turducken dish he helped make famous, it was all three.
“There’s no place I’d rather be today on Thanksgiving Day than right here, right now, at a football game,” Madden said at the 1997 Thanksgiving Day game. “There are only certain things that go together: turkey, family, tradition, football… And today we have it all.”
