My colleague Rusty Weiss reported on Sen. Ruben Gallego's (D-Ariz.) troubling remarks about the video of six of his Democratic colleagues in Congress and news that the War Department is reviewing Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly's role in the video.
Gallego then made troubling remarks about the military who may be considering the matter.
“Donald Trump will be gone in a couple of years,” he said. “And if you are part of a military force that is targeting sitting senators, sitting members of Congress and participating in arming the government, there will undoubtedly be consequences.”
Yes. Talk about trying to put your thumb on the scale and get involved. What is he thinking? This is essentially an attempt to influence the investigation and explicitly state that military personnel will face “consequences.” This is not a concern for the army. He thinks he's hiding behind a fig leaf, saying they have to follow the Constitution and they'll be fine.
Mark Kelly makes a damning confession when asked specifically about “illegal orders”
But that's not all Gallego discovered. It turns out he was supposed to be part of the video, according to what Gallego told CNN's Casey Hunt. He explained what happened “by the time the script got to me.” Yes, he admitted that there was a script.

Hunt laughed at him when he said that he didn't have time to record it by the time he got it, that life happens so he couldn't do it, but that he was 100 percent okay with the video. It's not funny. I don't understand why Hunt laughed so much. The fact that she thinks it's funny says a lot about her. And it says a lot about him, and nothing good, that he approves of the actions in the video.
This also raises some other questions. Which first video is he talking about? What was in it? Who was really behind the “illegal orders” video? Who wrote the script and sent it out to people? How many people was this sent to and who else were they trying to get involved?
When we talk about Democrats as theater kids, it's something where they actually admit that they have a “script.” And Gallego doesn't even seem to realize what he's saying when he says it. Not the brightest move. Thanks Ruben for letting us know.
The FBI has reportedly contacted Capitol Police to schedule interviews with members of Congress involved in the infamous video to determine whether any wrongdoing occurred. They may want to ask some of the questions I noted above to get to the bottom of the matter.
